The Media and Communications (including foundation year) BSc (Hons) program offers an ideal pathway into higher education for aspiring media professionals who lack traditional entry qualifications. This four-year course equips students with essential skills and industry knowledge to launch careers in the dynamic media landscape.
Your foundation year introduces broad concepts in digital media and journalism, developing critical media analysis skills that form the basis for subsequent study. This preparatory phase builds fundamental competencies for the following three academic years.
The foundation curriculum is shared across multiple media-related programs, allowing you to collaborate with peers pursuing different specializations.
After completing Year 0, you'll follow identical coursework and module options as students in the standard Media and Communications BSc (Hons) program, with the flexibility to adjust your specialization if desired.
Throughout the degree, you'll examine media's cultural and political impacts across various platforms including print, television, film, digital media, music, and social networks.
