Our Games Programming (with foundation year) BSc (Hons) program incorporates an initial foundation year to establish core programming, mathematics, and physics fundamentals for game creation, setting you up for the subsequent three years of study. Upon completion, you'll possess the specialized expertise required to enter the dynamic games programming industry.

The foundation year introduces essential programming concepts, computer systems, game design principles, and mathematical methods.

This program facilitates collaboration between artists and programmers in game development projects. This curriculum component has received TIGA accreditation from our industry partners, as it mirrors actual professional workflows.

The foundation year is shared across multiple degree programs, allowing you to learn alongside peers pursuing various specializations during Year 0.

The foundational level equips you with crucial games programming competencies for successful progression through the remaining three years. Our supportive faculty will enhance both your academic skills and self-assurance throughout this four-year journey.

We actively encourage participation in gaming events and competitions throughout your studies, providing opportunities to explore innovative game designs. Additionally, you'll have the chance to showcase your projects at our annual Summer Show exhibition, where work from all program levels is displayed before industry professionals.
