The Computer Systems Engineering and Robotics (including foundation year) BEng is a four-year program featuring an integrated foundation year (Year 0).
This initial year covers fundamental concepts in computer systems and engineering, equipping you for the subsequent three years of study. Upon completion, you'll possess the practical expertise required for careers in computing and engineering sectors.
Our BEng program in Computer Systems Engineering and Robotics (with foundation year) helps build the necessary skills for undergraduate study while enhancing your confidence and academic abilities in computing-related fields. This preparatory year is shared across multiple foundation programs, allowing you to collaborate with diverse students. You'll have the option to modify your specialization after completing the foundation year.
Throughout the foundation year, you'll gain knowledge in computer security, networking, mathematical methods, programming languages, and theoretical aspects of software design. Mastering these core subjects will prepare you for the remaining three years of your degree.
The course provides access to specialized labs for computer-aided design (CAD), electronics, microwave and satellite communications, embedded systems, digital systems, and optoelectronics. The computing and engineering competencies you develop will support your professional growth in computer systems.
Upon graduation, you'll receive the same undergraduate degree title and qualification as students who completed the standard three-year program.
