Our Photography (including foundation year) BA stands among several highly regarded art and photography programs within our School of Art, Architecture and Design.
The foundation year provides opportunities to experiment with various artistic approaches and acquire versatile creative skills before focusing more intently on photography by the end of your first academic year.
Your foundation studies will commence with a series of concentrated studio workshops designed to build fundamental photographic skills and techniques that will support your entire degree journey. You'll also cultivate the disciplined work habits crucial for success in arts education.
Following these workshops, you'll engage in extended projects that enable deeper exploration of your personal creative vision, fostering greater artistic independence as both creator and photographer.
The curriculum also examines contemporary creative practice through conceptual, cultural, and historical perspectives via lectures and seminar discussions.
