This program serves as the final year (Level 6) top-up option for our Interior Design and Decoration BA (Hons) degree. Designed for students holding a foundation degree, Higher National Diploma, or equivalent qualifications, it also accommodates those seeking to complete their undergraduate studies in London.

You'll explore material applications for decorative interior spaces, examining diverse industry contexts including residential, retail, hospitality, exhibition, and public environments.

Through course projects, you'll engage with private, commercial, community-focused, and sustainable interior spaces. The curriculum emphasizes understanding spatial connections between surfaces, furnishings, objects, and textiles while developing both visual presentation and hands-on decorative craftsmanship skills for prototyping and expressing design concepts.

Our workshop resources allow you to experiment with various materials (both rigid and flexible) and marking techniques. You'll collaborate with peers and specialists across disciplines like furniture design, upholstery, textiles, and metalwork, employing both traditional craftsmanship and digital fabrication methods.

Portfolios and interviews
Your portfolio should be selective, but have enough work to show a range of your interests and talents. We are interested in seeing how you develop a project from beginning to end, not only finished work.

If you cannot bring certain pieces of your work to your portfolio interview, please take photographs and include them.

Physical portfolio
If you are coming in person to your interview we strongly suggest bringing a physical portfolio of work.

Things to bring:

Sketchbooks we love to see your sketchbooks with ideas and notes, even if they are messy.
Examples of the development of a project from start to finish and the final outcome.
Some work that you are really proud of and want to talk about.
