Our Graphic Design (with preparatory semester) BA (Hons) starts with an introductory semester to build core graphic design techniques. You'll explore typography, printmaking, sketching, photography, digital tools, while gaining insights into professional and cultural applications of graphic design.
This foundation semester equips you with essential abilities, understanding, and confidence to successfully continue your degree program.
The full Graphic Design (with preparatory semester) program spans three years beginning each September. After completing the preparatory phase, you'll merge with students on the standard track in January. Your first year will comprise three semesters, including summer study between Years 1 and 2. For the remaining two years, your curriculum and schedule will align with students in the standard Graphic Design BA (Hons) program.

you should have:
a minimum of grades of CC in two A levels (or a minimum of 64 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification, eg BTEC National, OCR Diploma or Advanced Diploma)
English Language GCSE at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
We encourage applications from international/EU students with equivalent qualifications. We also accept mature students with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
You will need to attend an interview with your portfolio of creative work. If you live outside of the UK will be required to submit a portfolio of work via email.

Your portfolio should be selective but have enough work to show the range of your interests and talents. We're interested in seeing how you develop a project from beginning to end, not only finished work.
