Throughout your program, you'll acquire a comprehensive grasp of the film and television sector and its worldwide impact. Hands-on experience will equip you with versatile abilities, readying you for diverse career paths in cultural fields or advanced academic pursuits.

This curriculum begins with a shared foundational year alongside our Film and Television Production BA, introducing core industry knowledge and fundamental audiovisual techniques. You'll then focus on scholarly, historical, and cultural examinations of film and television media.

Alumni have progressed to postgraduate studies at prestigious institutions like King's College London or secured positions with major entities such as Netflix, Curzon Cinemas, the British Film Institute (BFI), and various production firms including Graham Norton's So Television.

Our Film and Television Studies faculty consists of globally recognized scholars. Dr. Karen McNally, an authority on Hollywood films and American TV, has contributed to international research initiatives and appeared on Channel 4, BBC Radio, and at the British Film Institute. Dr. Leila Wimmer, a specialist in French cinema, has authored numerous publications including a book and articles in various academic journals and collections.

In addition to the University's standard entry requirements, you should have:

a minimum of grades BBC in three A Levels (or a minimum of 112 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification, eg Advanced Diploma)
Application may include a compulsory interview and/or portfolio submission.

If you don't have traditional qualifications or can't meet the entry requirements for this undergraduate degree, you may still be able to gain entry by completing our Film and Television Studies (including foundation year) BA (Hons) degree.
