Our BSc (Hons) in Criminology and International Security offers a comprehensive exploration of criminology within a global framework. You'll collaborate with expert academics to analyze the root causes of criminal behavior and societal responses.
Unlike traditional criminology programs, this course emphasizes international perspectives through our School of Social Sciences and Professions. Students can enhance their experience by spending a semester abroad during their second year at partner institutions across Europe, North America, or Asia.
Renowned scholars in international relations, criminology, and security studies deliver this program, complemented by guest lectures from industry professionals. These sessions offer practical insights into international security careers and real-world applications.
Throughout the course, you'll critically evaluate both domestic and global crime prevention strategies and their political implications. Elective modules enable specialization in areas like global justice systems, peacebuilding, and emerging criminological challenges.
Career preparation is integrated throughout the curriculum, with optional work placements available in years two and three. Previous students have gained experience at humanitarian organizations, policy research centers, and diplomatic missions.
Our central London location provides access to premier legal and academic resources, including the Royal Courts of Justice and British Library. The program also includes visits to NGOs, diplomatic missions, and government agencies to observe international security operations firsthand.
