About your courseThe BSc (Hons) Child Nursing Apprenticeship (Top-up) enables you to earn a degree while maintaining employment. This NMC-approved program provides high-quality training to equip you for the challenging yet fulfilling field of pediatric nursing.Child nurses support children, adolescents, and their families across various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and home care. Through this BSc (Hons) Nursing (Child) top-up apprenticeship, you'll develop the competencies, practical experience, and professional assurance to excel as a healthcare practitioner while continuing to work.This intensive 18-month full-time program includes two theoretical assessments during the initial six months, followed by five in the final year - one for each academic module plus an annual practice module. Your evaluations will incorporate diverse authentic methods including presentations, written assignments, professional discussions, examinations, and clinical practice assessments, ensuring comprehensive skill development. Digital learning resources will be available to enhance your educational experience.Upon graduation, you'll receive an Honours Degree and qualify for NMC registration as a Child Nurse.Nursing Associates or Assistant Practitioners may receive credit for prior learning, potentially covering the first 18 months of the BSc (Hons) program. A minimum of two GCSE's which must include Maths and English at grade C (level 4-9) or above OR level 2 Equivalency in Numeracy and Literacy. IELTS Online (Academic) Grade required (Minimum standards – courses may vary): 6.0 Overall with 5.5 in each component. TOEFL IBT: Grade required (Minimum standards – courses may vary): 78 Overall with R18, W17, L17, S20.
