Build specialized knowledge about obesity's multifaceted nature by combining scientific research with hands-on training informed by real-world experiences. Throughout the program, you'll engage with expert guest lecturers including public health officials, weight management specialists, researchers, and participants from our Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement initiative.
This course will enable you to:
Recognize the value of insights from individuals directly affected by obesity
Work alongside participants from our Patient and Public Involvement network
Examine obesity's intricate, interdisciplinary aspects and their application in research, policy, and clinical settings
Acquire practical competencies such as mindful communication, effective dialogue, and group facilitation techniques
Master methods for evaluating, understanding, and presenting data to diverse audiences

Applicants should either have at least a second class honours degree in the cognate subjects of Sport & Exercise Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Physics, Biomechanics, Physiotherapy, Physical Education, Human Physiology, Biochemistry, Dietetics, Nutrition, Medicine or Sports Therapy, at least a second class honours degree in a non-cognate subject supported by evidence of an aptitude for the subject applied for, or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment.
