Considering the ethical concerns and environmental consequences of demolition and new construction is crucial, particularly amid the current climate emergency. This program encourages sustainable utilization and preservation of architectural assets through a cross-disciplinary method for repurposing existing buildings.
Throughout this course, you will:Integrate principles from architecture, landscape, art, and design while critically examining interior design practicesCraft environments capable of hosting meaningful personal and communal experiencesStudy in an encouraging setting and utilize a fully-equipped studio at our central Leeds City CampusExplore the history and theories of interior architecture while analyzing cultural influences on spatial designFormulate compelling concepts and develop innovative adaptive reuse projects based on assigned briefs or personal proposalsGain knowledge about appropriate materials and building techniques while comprehending the ecological effects of modifying existing structuresWork autonomously to organize tasks and oversee the execution of both individual and collaborative projects
GCSEs
GCSE English Language Grade 4 or above (Grade C for GCSEs taken before 2017) or equivalent. Key Skills Level 2, Functional Skills Level 2 and the Certificate in Adult Literacy are accepted in place of GCSEs.
Access to HE Diploma
Pass overall with a minimum of 120 UCAS tariff points.
T Levels
Pass overall with a minimum of 120 UCAS tariff points, including a C or above on the core.
Scottish Awards
120 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 5 Highers of which at least 2 must be grade B or above.
Irish Leaving Certificate
120 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 5 subjects at higher level of which at least 3 must be grade H3 or above.
International baccalaureate
120 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 3 Highers of which at least 2 must be grade H5 or above.
Portfolio Required
We will email suitable candidates to request a digital portfolio. You will be provided with a brief on how to create the digital portfolio and the required portfolio elements.
IELTS
IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification. The University provides excellent support for any applicant who may be required to undertake additional English language courses.
