Offered in collaboration with Lancaster's Department of Mathematics and Statistics, our MSci program in Theoretical Physics with Mathematics (Study Abroad) merges fundamental physics with advanced theoretical concepts and pure mathematics coursework. This provides you with deep insight into the mathematical principles underlying physics, such as how quantum mechanics relies on the sophisticated framework of Hilbert spaces.
During your initial year, you'll explore essential physics topics like Quantum Physics and Electromagnetism alongside foundational mathematics, covering areas like geometry, calculus, number theory, and probability.
In the second and third years, core physics studies are enhanced by specialized theoretical physics courses and advanced mathematical subjects including group theory and differential equations.
Participants in our MSci (Study Abroad) program spend their third year at one of our affiliated universities across Australia, New Zealand, North America, or Europe. While following the same curriculum as our standard MSci students at Lancaster, you'll complete equivalent coursework at our partner institutions abroad.
