This program is designed for individuals seeking to critically, practically, and innovatively address worldwide and regional environmental challenges through diverse academic perspectives. The curriculum integrates theories, methodologies, and insights from both social and environmental sciences, applying them to current ecological concerns, discussions, and disputes.
Students are invited to select various social and natural science courses provided by the Sociology Department, Law School, and Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC), gaining the ability to understand, analyze, and synthesize these distinct environmental knowledge approaches. A key focus lies on participatory and applied research, ensuring findings contribute meaningfully to community and policy dialogues. Typically, participants complete three mandatory modules along with three (or more, depending on credit value) elective modules.
