Offered in collaboration with Lancaster's Department of Mathematics and Statistics, our BSc in Theoretical Physics with Mathematics merges fundamental physics with specialized theoretical concepts and rigorous mathematics training. You'll gain deep insights into how mathematical frameworks support physical theories, such as the role of Hilbert spaces in quantum mechanics.
During your first year, you'll study essential physics topics like Quantum Physics and Electromagnetism alongside foundational mathematics courses covering geometry, calculus, number theory, and probability.
The second and third years build upon this foundation with advanced theoretical physics modules and mathematical subjects including group theory and differential equations.
Your final year includes a collaborative research project and elective options like Quantum Information or Advanced Gravity and Relativity.
