Our Bachelor of Science with Honours in Cyber Security prepares students to become the next generation of cyber security systems engineers and architects. The curriculum builds upon our foundational computer science program, delivering a robust education in both theoretical and practical aspects of modern computing.
The BSc Hons Cyber Security degree further equips students with specialized expertise in critical security areas including penetration testing, digital forensics, cryptography, network protection, and resilient system design. The program incorporates cutting-edge security subjects like autonomous system protection, AI security, cyber-physical system safeguards, and security metrics - all informed by the pioneering research conducted in our School of Computing and Communications.
During the initial year, students establish a solid grasp of core disciplinary principles and their contemporary applications. The curriculum features hands-on learning through modules such as Software Development, Computer Science Fundamentals, and Digital Systems. Students actively develop, assess, and refine systems while incorporating user feedback to enhance solutions. Alongside technical training, the program examines the ethical, social, and professional considerations inherent to the field.
