The BSc Accounting and Management (Industry) program combines accounting technical skills with management expertise in a 4-year career-oriented curriculum featuring a 12-month paid industry placement during year 3. Consider the leadership of FTSE100 companies - one-third of CEOs hold chartered accountant qualifications, demonstrating the powerful synergy between management and accounting. This flexible program lets you select management modules from across the Management School and University, tailoring your degree to match your interests and strengths. Graduates emerge with both technical proficiency and hands-on experience, fully prepared for demanding management positions. (Many students secure employment offers from their placement organizations.) Instruction comes from top academic researchers and industry professionals in accounting, management, and related disciplines like human resources and marketing.
First-year studies focus on practical accounting and finance applications using real company data, while exploring economic concepts including inflation, market dynamics, and pricing strategies.
Second-year coursework covers essential areas like auditing, financial and management accounting, finance, and statistical analysis. Students can also choose additional subjects from at least two other Management School departments, such as Law, Management Science, Marketing, or Economics.
