Lancaster's combined Spanish Studies and English Literature program is delivered through a collaboration between the Department of Languages and Cultures and the Department of English and Creative Writing. This four-year course features an international study abroad opportunity during the third year.
The Spanish Studies component helps you develop advanced language proficiency while exploring the historical, cultural, social, and political landscapes of Spanish-speaking nations worldwide. The English Literature portion covers diverse writers, literary styles, historical eras, artistic movements, writing techniques, and analytical methods.
In your first year, you'll examine Spanish language fundamentals and cultural studies alongside core English Literature coursework. You may also select supplementary modules like World Literature or Creative Writing, or opt for an elective from another academic discipline.
