Enhance your analytical skills across two dynamic departments, collaborating with passionate peers and experienced academics while exploring the interconnected realms of History and Philosophy.
The foundational History module in your first year expands your historical knowledge, covering major events and themes from antiquity to modern times. You'll learn historical research methods, interpretation techniques, and refine your abilities in research, essay writing, and presentations.
Philosophy's introductory course, 'Introduction to Philosophy,' explores essential philosophical concepts across diverse traditions—Continental, Analytic, and non-Western—offering both a survey of philosophical disciplines and tools for examining life's fundamental questions. While preparing students for advanced philosophical study, it also serves as a standalone introduction for those seeking philosophical enrichment. In later years, you can select from various philosophy modules such as Continental Philosophy, Logic and Language, Aesthetics, and Moral Philosophy. Additional options are available on the PPR department's website.
