This dual-language program merges French and German Studies through the Department of Languages and Cultures, offering students advanced linguistic proficiency alongside a comprehensive exploration of French and German societies in a worldwide framework. The curriculum features an overseas placement during the third year.

Your studies commence with foundational French and German courses, each incorporating cultural elements. You may also select an optional minor subject, potentially including an additional language.

In your second year, you'll enhance your language capabilities while delving deeper into the cultural, political, and historical aspects of France and Germany. The program also includes globally-focused courses that foster comparative analysis of European and international contexts.

Qualification Requirements

A Level ABB

Required Subjects A level French and/or German. Native French or German speakers will not be accepted onto this scheme.

IELTS 6.5 overall with at least 5.5 in each component. TOEFL IBT - 87 overall, minimum of 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 17 in speaking and 20 in writing. Cambridge English: Advanced CAE 176 overall with at least 162 in each element.

International Baccalaureate 32 points overall with 16 points from the best 3 Higher Level subjects including 6 in French HL and/or German HL
