Civil Engineers must continuously stay updated with global advancements to address the needs of an ever-evolving society, including tackling the climate crisis. This MEng/BEng Civil Engineering program aims to provide graduates with the fundamental knowledge, abilities, and professional competencies needed for civil engineers to create, construct, and transform our built environment.
The course modules deliver essential expertise to navigate climate adaptation and the industry's digital revolution. These components will ready students for professional work, aligning with AHEP4 learning objectives and future skill demands (M1-M18). The curriculum emphasizes technical ambiguity, adopting a problem-solving and innovative approach centered on contemporary technology. This fosters the ability to devise engineering solutions through technological innovation, creative thinking, and transformative practices (Engineering Council, 2020).

Qualification Requirements
The minimum entry qualifications for the programme are:
From A levels: 128-136 UCAS Tariff points to include A2 mathematics
BTEC: Distinction, Distinction, Merit (DDM) as minimum from an engineering-related BTEC Extended Diploma including Distinction for Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
T-Level in Construction (Design, Surveying and Planning) with overall grade of D.
Plus GCSE (A-C) minimum of five subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
Entry on to this course does not require an interview, entrance test, audition or portfolio.
Direct entry to level 5 of the MEng is not normally permitted.
All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 6.0, with no element below 5.5.

Pass English Language (A1/A2) with 4 or above at Higher Level (HL), or 5 or above at Standard Level (SL)
