This program equips you for a career in personalized professional practice within diverse health and social care environments. You'll gain expertise in designing and assessing care solutions for individuals with learning disabilities and their families. The curriculum challenges you to hone your abilities in collecting, examining, and integrating evidence to address and eliminate health disparities and social exclusion.
You'll examine the influences on health and wellbeing, societal health inequities, and strategies to enhance health results for those with learning disabilities and autism spectrum conditions (ASC).
The course covers handling complex health situations throughout life stages, from pediatric care to elderly patients and those with dementia or other mental/physical health requirements.
Through practical simulations and clinical placements, you'll partner with service users. Placement opportunities are available with leading institutions including South West London and St George's Mental Health Trust, Surrey and Borders Partnership Trust, Great Ormond Street Hospital, The Children's Trust, and The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability.
