The course is led by professional designers and researchers, supplemented by guest instructors from diverse creative fields who bring an expanded perspective on design. You'll examine how graphic design serves as a critical instrument to analyze modern challenges, visual culture, social dynamics, political contexts, personal identity, information systems, educational approaches, and technological advancements. Your role as a designer will be investigated through both practical application and theoretical study.
You'll refine your skills with expert guidance within specialized Platform groups like Socially-Engaged Design, Visual Identity and Branding, Language and Publishing, and Interactive Design. These groups offer focused frameworks for addressing project requirements in each module, while helping you cultivate unique research methodologies and professional practice through an Extended Research Project.
Instruction comes from seasoned design professionals, educators, and accomplished researchers. The program includes visits to working design studios, lectures by international industry guests, opportunities to tackle real-world projects and competitions, and hands-on workshop participation.
