Guided by top curators and designers, this program critically and creatively explores our rapidly evolving, complex society. Students gain hands-on experience curating real-world projects while developing their professional portfolios through collaborations with The Design Museum and partners like the Architectural Association, British Council, Gallery Fumi, and the Royal Academy of Arts. Combining academic research with practical application, this program has nurtured emerging curators for over fifteen years.
Participants acquire both creative and technical skills for organizing design exhibitions, public events, and innovative curatorial approaches. The curriculum emphasizes critical analysis of curation methods, interdisciplinary collaboration, and developing communication skills for discussing contemporary design and exhibition practices.
The program includes visits to artist studios, exhibitions, galleries, and independent creative spaces, plus an optional international study trip. Previous destinations have featured New York, Berlin, and Amsterdam. Through a final dissertation or project, students demonstrate their unique vision and creative approach to design curation.
