During this program, you'll acquire in-depth understanding of building upkeep, preservation, maintenance, and structural principles, mirroring the responsibilities of a professional building surveyor. The curriculum covers both commercial and legal facets of real estate and construction. You'll develop skills to guide clients through the financial and regulatory consequences stemming from a property's condition.
The course explores various architectural designs, ranging from inadequate to excellent and environmentally conscious. You'll practice with both hand-drawn sketches and digital design software. Additionally, you'll investigate common causes of structural failures in buildings - essential expertise for certified building surveyors. Your education will culminate in a collaborative group assignment and an individual research project to demonstrate your acquired knowledge.
