Our PGCE program offers a comprehensive and analytical foundation for teaching Latin alongside Classics, incorporating practical classroom demonstrations and evidence-based research. We collaborate closely with partner schools to design, implement, and evaluate our curriculum, cultivating skilled and reflective educators. Key advantages King's stands among only two UK institutions providing an 11-18 PGCE in Latin with Classics, renowned nationally for its exceptional standards. The program maintains valuable connections with experts across diverse fields including museum education, theater arts, psychology, and educational publishing. King's PGCE programs received Ofsted's highest 'Outstanding' rating, partly due to their strong research foundation. Our department was recognized as London's top education research institution in the latest assessment (REF 2021). We maintain productive collaborations with numerous schools across London and beyond, offering unparalleled experience teaching diverse student populations. 92% of our PGCE graduates secured teaching positions as Early Career Teachers in UK and international schools (JISC Graduate Outcomes 2024). Our central London location provides easy access to educational sites like the Museum of London. The program includes two assessed assignments worth 60 Master's credits - equivalent to one-third of an MA degree - accelerating your path to an advanced degree. Career prospects Most graduates enter teaching or education-related fields, with many advancing to department leadership or senior administrative roles, while others pursue careers in educational policy, advisory services, or inspection.
