Our DClinDent in Paediatric Dentistry provides comprehensive training across all areas of children's dental care, featuring a practical laboratory component focused on paediatric operative dentistry. The program covers diagnosis, treatment planning, and delivering care through non-pharmacological behavior management techniques, as well as oral rehabilitation under sedation or general anesthesia. This DClinDent qualification aligns with level 8 of the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (FHEQ).Key advantagesAccess to diverse patient cases at Guy's, King's College, and St Thomas' hospitals - London's primary referral centers and key facilities across southeast England.Clinical exposure at Evelina Children's Hospital and King's College Hospital, working with children who have complex medical needs.A minimum of five weekly clinical sessions involving personal patient care, trauma clinics, emergency services, multidisciplinary treatments, and operative procedures.Program fundamentalsThis contemporary course fosters reflective learning, clinical decision-making, critical analysis, evidence-based practice, and compassionate patient care. The curriculum primarily utilizes seminar-based teaching, with approximately 50 student-led seminars across the three-year program. Participants will research topics, deliver presentations, and critically evaluate literature both in writing and orally. This methodology encourages inquisitive thinking, profound understanding, and enhances critical evaluation abilities and clinical decision-making skills.
A recognised undergraduate dental qualification
All applicants: a dental qualification plus at least two years post-qualification experience. FDS, MFDS or MJDF is desirable.
