The MSc in Law & Professional Practice is a two-year postgraduate program, with the initial year offered as an independent Postgraduate Diploma. This course delivers an extensive and thorough foundation in legal studies and practical training, equipping students for the SQE and careers as solicitors or barristers in a dynamic and challenging field. A minimum high 2:1 undergraduate Bachelor’s (honours) degree with a final mark of at least 65% or above

If you have a lower degree classification, or a degree in an unrelated subject, your application may be considered if you can demonstrate significant relevant work experience or offer a related graduate qualification (such as a Masters or PGDip).

Programme-Specific Requirements

UK candidates must have a high 2:1 non-Law undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 65% as this programme is designed for those without formal studies in Law, such as an LLB, GDP, PGDL or some Master's programmes in Legal Practice. All other degree subject areas may be suitable.

In order to meet the academic entry requirements for this programme you should have a minimum high 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 65% or above in the UK marking scheme. If you are still studying you should be achieving an average of at least 65% or above in the UK marking scheme.

Overseas candidates must have a non-law undergraduate degree with equivalence to a high UK 2:1. with a final mark of the equivalent to at least 65% or above. Undergraduate Law degrees, the content of which does not include the study of English and Welsh law, may also be suitable with the same grade requirements.

Bachelor (Honours) degree / Master of Arts (Honours) degree with Upper Second Class Honours and 60% overall from the final two years

IELTS (Academic): 7.0 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in each skill

TOEFL iBT: 100 overall with a minimum of 25 in writing and 23 in each of the other skills.
