The MSc in Russian and Eurasian Politics and Economics - the premier program offered by the King's Russia Institute - provides students with analytical frameworks and viewpoints essential for comprehending the ongoing political, economic, and social transformations reshaping Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. Delivered by distinguished scholars and featuring direct engagement with policy experts, this program enables students to specialize in specific academic or professional domains, including: • Eurasian Political Economy & Energy, concentrating on the political and economic examination of energy resource extraction, production, and distribution across Eurasia. Participants will acquire specialized understanding of the complex challenges affecting the energy industry throughout the region and extending into the European Union, along with various rigorous methods for policy and scholarly assessment; and • Russian and East European Politics & Society, examining the difficulties confronting nations and communities in Russia and neighboring areas currently experiencing military conflicts, including unsuccessful reform initiatives and the dynamics of increasingly polarized domestic and international politics. Standard requirements: A minimum 2:1 undergraduate Bachelor’s (honours) degree. If you have a lower degree classification, or a degree in an unrelated subject, your application may be considered if you can demonstrate significant relevant work experience, or offer a related graduate qualification (such as a Masters or PGDip).
Programme-Specific Requirements. Bachelor's degree with 2:1 honours degree in a relevant subject. In order to meet the academic entry requirements for this programme you should have a minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme. If you are still studying you should be achieving an average of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme. Professional qualifications and experience may be taken into account. A working knowledge of Russian is welcome but not obligatory. Students can demonstrate their English Language Proficiency with the following tests and grades: IELTS (Academic): 7.0 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in each skill; TOEFL iBT: 100 overall with a minimum of 25 in writing and 23 in each of the other skills.
