The MSc in Robotics is an interdisciplinary program that enables students to investigate the combination of mechanical systems, sensors, electronic components, and advanced computer-based control systems while undertaking an independent research project. Designed for engineering graduates or those with related scientific qualifications, this program provides essential knowledge for pursuing careers in research or industrial sectors. The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) accredits this program on behalf of the Engineering Council, fulfilling the Further Learning criteria for Chartered Engineer status. Applicants need a CEng-accredited BEng/BSc (Hons) undergraduate degree to satisfy all CEng registration requirements. Accreditation period: 2024-2028

Qualification Requirements

Standard requirements: A minimum 2:1 undergraduate Bachelor’s (honours) degree. If you have a lower degree classification, or a degree in an unrelated subject, your application may be considered if you can demonstrate significant relevant work experience, or offer a related graduate qualification (such as a Masters or PGDip).

Programme-Specific Requirements Bachelors degree with 2:1 honours degree in mechanical engineering (or other relevant subject e.g. physics, mathematics, electrical engineering). We also welcome international, professional or occupational qualifications and assess them on an individual basis. In order to meet the academic entry requirements for this programme you should have a minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree or international equivalent. If you are still studying you should be achieving an average of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme. Additional Requirements: A sound background in basic mathematics, in particular familiarity with standard concepts of calculus, linear algebra, differential equations and elementary probability theory. Competence in computer programming to the level expected at the end of the first year of a BSc honours degree in computer science. We also welcome professional or occupational qualifications and assess them on an individual basis. Students can demonstrate their English Language Proficiency with any of the following tests and grades: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in each skill; TOEFL IBT: 92 overall, with a minimum 23 in each skill.
