Our innovative course offers specialized training for dental technicians, maxillofacial prosthetists, and dentists. Participants experience diverse teaching methods such as consultant-led clinics, chair-side instruction, small group sessions, and personalized mentoring, with a strong focus on evidence-based practices from current literature. It also addresses identification of oral diseases, infections, and skin conditions relevant to intra- and extra-oral prosthetics, along with foundational training in all restorative specialties. Sample research topics include: digital color matching for facial prostheses, titanium biocompatibility in cranioplasty procedures, acrylic-silicone bonding techniques, and patient-focused implant outcomes. Instruction primarily occurs at King's College London's Guy's Campus, with select seminars and clinical/theater sessions at our Denmark Hill Campus.Career prospectsThe program equips both international and UK/EU dental technicians and dentists with specialist-level expertise in maxillofacial and craniofacial technology.Graduates will qualify for more advanced roles within Maxillofacial Technology while gaining proficiency in modern technologies and research project coordination.
Standard requirements: A recognised undergraduate dental qualification. Programme-Specific Requirements: Diploma in Professional Studies (Maxillofacial Prosthetics & Technology) or a degree in Dental Technology with two years' post-qualification technical experience. Overseas applicants will not be expected to have completed the Diploma in Professional Studies (Maxillofacial Prosthetics & Technology) but must have a focused interest in maxillofacial and craniofacial technology. Students can demonstrate their English Language Proficiency with any of the following tests and grades: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in each skill; TOEFL IBT: 92 overall, with a minimum 23 in each skill.
