The School of Immunology & Microbial Sciences spearheads research, education, and training at King's, specializing in Immunology, Inflammation, and Infectious Diseases—all aimed at enhancing human health.
Our work centers on unraveling the immune system's mechanisms in both healthy and diseased states. Through collaborations between clinical and discovery scientists, we explore diverse topics using techniques ranging from atomic-level analysis of molecular and cellular processes to pioneering therapeutic developments and clinical studies. This interdisciplinary strategy allows us to address pressing challenges in biology and medicine, including asthma, allergies, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, transplant rejection, vaccine development, and various infections such as HIV and Ebola.
