Delve into the historic realms of Greece and Rome while examining English literary works. This Classics and English Literature program equips you with expertise in Latin and/or Ancient Greek languages, philosophical texts, historical contexts, artistic expressions, and archaeological findings, while tracing the profound impact of Greco-Roman writers on Western literary traditions.
Our interdisciplinary Classical Studies with English BA program offers comprehensive classical education alongside English literature studies. The majority of your coursework will occur within the Classics Department, where you'll acquire proficiency in Latin and Ancient Greek languages, philosophical works, historical analysis, and artistic/archaeological interpretation.
Complementary modules from the English Department will reveal how ancient world influences have been reinterpreted and reshaped across centuries up to contemporary times.
This 360-credit Classical Studies with English BA spans three academic years. Annually, you'll select from various optional modules exploring diverse facets of Greek and Roman civilizations (including literary works, philosophical traditions, historical events, artistic achievements, and language studies) alongside English literary studies.
