The Research Centre for Politics, International Relations, and Environment serves as an outstanding platform for doctoral studies, boasting a proven track record of PhD graduates who have forged successful careers in academia and beyond. We actively encourage applications from both UK and international postgraduate researchers, offering comprehensive supervision, resources, and support to foster their development within our vibrant academic community. Our thriving postgraduate network currently includes 37 doctoral candidates in Politics and International Relations. As part of Keele's interdisciplinary Research Institute for Social Sciences, RC4SPIRE facilitates valuable connections among researchers and faculty, allowing students to engage deeply with all research dimensions. Postgraduates benefit from excellent facilities including dedicated workspaces, specialized training programs, annual conferences, social activities, and weekly discussion groups addressing research challenges. A unique feature of SPIRE is its capacity to support PhD projects bridging political/international relations studies with philosophical inquiry. Note that under UK visa rules, international fee-status students must typically enroll full-time unless pursuing distance learning.
