Keele's physiotherapy research focuses on: Enhancing Independence and Life Quality, Health and Exercise Initiatives, Assessment and Analysis, and Service Assessment. The team includes members affiliated with the National Physiotherapy Research Network (NPRN), which receives CSP funding for five years to promote and enable nationwide participation in physiotherapy studies. The NPRN strives to expand the community of physiotherapy researchers while boosting research output and its practical application. The School of Health and Rehabilitation, along with partner institutions (other higher education and industry collaborators), provides all necessary resources and services to support this work. Much of our research occurs at the patient level, utilizing portable measurement tools. For project-specific questions, please reach out to relevant faculty members. A skilled research team oversees these activities, with additional peer support available through connections with postgraduate researchers in the School of Allied Health Professions and Pharmacy and the School of Medicine. We particularly welcome PhD applications in neurological rehabilitation, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, active living/sports/cardio-respiratory physiotherapy, and lower limb rehabilitation. Note: Under UK visa rules, international fee-paying students typically must enroll full-time unless pursuing distance learning.
