This field also involves isolating, refining, and analyzing natural substances - especially from plants (known as Pharmacognosy) - for their therapeutic properties. Program Overview This interdisciplinary field combines computational studies, organic synthesis, analytical techniques, biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, pharmaceutical formulation, and more. Successful drug discovery requires strong collaboration, with Keele's medicinal chemists working alongside researchers from various UK and international institutions. Cutting-edge facilities are housed across multiple buildings including the Huxley Building, Lennard-Jones Laboratories, Jack Ashley Building, and Guy Hilton Research Centre.
