Course overview
International Relations and Politics helps you comprehend societal structures and global systems. In this combined honors program, you'll investigate significant world events that impact our lives, examining themes of power, justice, conflict, and governance - from educational systems to worldwide health crises.
International Relations focuses on worldwide political systems, international connections, and societal power structures. You'll analyze how different elements - including governments and citizens - interact to shape global affairs. The program encourages critical thinking about world events while refining your analytical abilities to assess the risks and opportunities in creating positive change. You'll gain insights into international bodies like the UN and EU.
Keele's Politics program explores societal structures and the influential forces behind them, addressing questions of authority, fairness, disputes, and administration. Our curriculum covers fundamental concepts while allowing specialization in theoretical, historical, empirical, or issue-specific areas according to your interests.
Foundation Year
Our Foundation Year offers an alternative pathway to Keele, giving you time to prepare thoroughly for your degree. Successful completion guarantees entry to your undergraduate program. Duration of study: 3 years (4 years with international option or placement year)
A Level: BBC in three A Levels.
Access to HE Diploma: 112 UCAS points in any Access to HE Diploma including Distinction in at least 15 Level 3 credits.
BTEC Extended Diploma / National Extended Diploma: DMM in any BTEC Extended Diploma / National Extended Diploma.
BTEC National Diploma / Diploma: Distinction and Merit in any BTEC National Diploma / Diploma and C in one A Level, or Merit and Merit in BTEC Diploma and A in one A Level.
BTEC National Extended Certificate / Subsidiary Diploma: Distinction in any BTEC National Extended Certificate / Subsidiary Diploma and CC in two A Levels, or Merit in any BTEC National Extended Certificate / Subsidiary Diploma and BB in two A Levels.
International Baccalaureate Diploma: 554 in three Higher Levels or 29 points.
IELTS - 6.0 with 5.5 in all components TOEFL IBT - 79 with 17 (writing), 17 (listening), 18 (reading) and 20 (speaking).
