This aerospace engineering BEng program specializes in space technology. While sharing many elements with the BEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering degree, this version concentrates on spacecraft design, particularly rocket propulsion systems, spaceflight control, and satellite communications. A key feature for students are the collaborative design projects in the final year, where teams work together to create complete aircraft designs. Additionally, students partner with astrophysics students and industry leaders to develop space vehicle concepts.

The department is known for pioneering teaching methods, blending conventional classroom instruction with online learning via the university's StudyNet platform. This system provides round-the-clock access to digital resources, enables discussions with faculty and peers, and allows global coursework submission for certain modules. Emphasizing Computer Aided Engineering, the program utilizes industry-standard software and maintains flexible lab access policies, encouraging students to conduct experiments independently when feasible.
