The MSc in Subsurface Energy Systems provides you with comprehensive expertise to oversee geoenergy resources safely, efficiently, and sustainably. This program is ideal for science and engineering graduates, as well as individuals with quantitative academic backgrounds who seek to manage subsurface reservoirs during the transition from fossil fuels to decarbonized energy systems. You'll explore fundamental principles of subsurface energy and CO2 storage, geothermal solutions, and transitional gas applications while combining geoscience, engineering, and socio-political considerations. The curriculum covers geoenergy resources, technological applications for resource management, and professional engineering ethics. Through this program, you'll bridge theoretical knowledge with practical implementation while developing essential statistical, scientific, and economic competencies.
Applicants must have one of the following: Minimum of 2:2 honours degree or equivalent academic qualification in a related subject area. For postgraduate conversion courses, non-related degrees will be considered. Corporate (or chartered) membership of relevant professional institutions will also be considered. The minimum English language requirement for entry to this programme is IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) with no score lower than 5.5. TOEFL IBT 79 (Reading 18, Listening 17, Speaking 20, Writing 21)
