The MSc and Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology (Software Systems) programs are designed to train software engineers. These courses focus on applying IT principles to specify, design, build, and implement software solutions. Students will develop practical software applications to solve real-world challenges while applying theoretical knowledge from classroom instruction. In addition to fundamental software engineering subjects, including Java programming and UML for object-oriented systems, participants will study various other disciplines such as Database Systems and Network Applications.

Qualification Requirements
Admission requires a good honours degree with a substantial academic component of Computing or IT that includes study of databases and programming. Applicants with an engineering or mathematics background may also be considered. Where English was not the medium of instruction at secondary school, applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.5 (with all elements passed at 6.0 or above). Applicants who have completed secondary and tertiary education will need to provide documentary evidence. A minimum of one year full-time study in English will be required. TOEFL ibt overall score of 90 including reading 20, listening 19, speaking 21 and writing 23.
