The MSc Energy with Entrepreneurship program offers a distinctive dual focus, combining engineering and scientific knowledge of contemporary energy challenges with entrepreneurial skill development and commercial awareness. This integrated curriculum prepares graduates to shape organizational strategies in the energy sector and respond effectively to evolving environmental regulations. The program delivers comprehensive theoretical and practical training in energy technologies while cultivating broader competencies valuable for engineers, managers, and policymakers alike. Students engage with diverse energy disciplines including resource management, power generation, process engineering, environmental policy, and sustainable building design, complemented by business courses delivered in partnership with Edinburgh Business School. Additionally, three core entrepreneurship courses foster enterprise thinking, creative problem-solving, and commercial planning skills specifically tailored for energy applications.Energy constitutes a fundamental human necessity. Governments globally increasingly prioritize energy affordability, accessibility, and efficiency as they confront the finite nature of conventional energy sources. The program examines sustainable alternatives as the limitations of fossil fuels - our primary energy resource - become increasingly apparent.Throughout this master's program, students develop a multidimensional understanding of energy encompassing electricity, thermal systems, and transportation. They analyze the complex interplay between energy supply and demand, which extends beyond technical considerations to encompass political, economic, and social dimensions. Participants gain perspective on energy systems at both macro and micro levels, evaluating provision, usage, and impacts through financial and environmental lenses. The flexible program structure enables specialization according to individual interests in energy and entrepreneurship. Students select from a wide range of modules covering topics such as power systems engineering, renewable energy solutions, thermal systems design, low-carbon architecture, energy storage solutions, and quality assurance. A part-time study option is available.
