The two-year MSc in Computing is a postgraduate program designed to build expertise. The initial year provides foundational knowledge and competencies required for advanced study in the second year. This program welcomes graduates from all academic backgrounds. Participants begin by mastering software engineering principles, exploring core computing subjects, and honing research abilities along with technical English proficiency to ready themselves for subsequent computer science studies. After completing Year 1, students may advance to Year 2 or opt to graduate with a Graduate Diploma in Computer Science. Successful candidates can then transition to any of our one-year master's specializations. Admission requires a good honours or ordinary degree of 3 years duration, numeracy and some prior ability at programming. This programme is designed for students with a non-Computer Science background who would benefit from a foundational year to help them to make a successful transition into Computing, and therefore students will only be recruited into Year 1 of this programme. There is no direct entry into Year 2 of this programme. If your first language is not English, we'll need to see evidence of your English language ability. The minimum English language requirement for entry to this programme is IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) with no score lower than 5.5. TOEFL iBT: 79 (including reading 18, listening 17, speaking 20, and writing 21).
