The Housing Design, Development, and Regeneration research theme explores development processes and results in urban and rural contexts, with special attention to affordable housing, community renewal, housing standards, and environmental sustainability. Scholars investigate not just the physical aspects of development but also the design and planning procedures. Current research for the Scottish Government assesses the efficiency of a specific affordable housing procurement method, analyzing cost, quality, and management factors, while past studies have explored design's influence on private housing projects in Scotland.
