Aerospace Engineers create, develop, and construct aircraft, spacecraft, and satellites. With rapid progress in commercial space travel, drone innovation, eco-friendly technologies, and aerospace business, this field has become one of engineering's most rapidly expanding specialties. The BEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering program merges fundamental mechanical engineering principles with specialized aerospace applications, emphasizing both current and future demands of the aviation sector. This undergraduate degree equips students with essential skills and specialized expertise to begin a successful aerospace engineering career. The curriculum draws from various engineering fields to establish a comprehensive knowledge base. During the initial two years, students complete coursework from our renowned mechanical engineering program, valued by employers for developing problem-solving abilities, component analysis skills, and practical solution design. Foundational Aerospace Engineering concepts are also introduced. In the final two years, students deepen their aerospace expertise through a Group Design Project and specialized electives like Spacecraft Engineering, Sustainable Aerodynamics, Drone Technologies, and Aerospace Simulation. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, allowing students to apply theory using cutting-edge facilities such as wind tunnels, supersonic testing equipment, and professional-grade software for fluid dynamics, finite element analysis, and CAD design.
