The BDes (Hons) Sound for the Moving Image is a two-year undergraduate program established in 2018. This course accepts applications from third-year direct entrants, including HND graduates from colleges and experienced mature students. It provides an educational setting where learners can enhance both their creative thinking and technical abilities in audio production for visual media. The curriculum starts with capturing and assembling sound environments, progresses to producing innovative documentary, abstract, and narrative film works, and culminates in developing interactive multimedia installations.

Qualification Requirements

Scottish Highers: ABBB including a literate subject*
A Levels: ABB, plus GCSE English Language at grade A or 7.
International Baccalaureate (IB): 30 points overall in the Diploma, including 18 at Higher Level, normally including English and
Visual Arts or Design Technology. Students not presenting English at grade 5 or above at Higher Level will be required to submit
an IELTS.
Irish Leaving Certificate: Four Highers at H2 or above - subjects required as per Scottish Highers

IELTS (IELTS for UKVI ) - 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component
TOEFL (IBT) and TOEFL IBT at home - 72-79 overall, with the following minimum scores in each component:Listening: 17, Reading: 18, Speaking: 20, Writing: 19
