This program prepares graduates to lead mental health services worldwide, equipping them with expertise to align mental health initiatives with international development goals and tackle global disparities. You'll learn to critically assess the challenges of applying Western mental health concepts globally while acquiring skills to create and execute policies that alleviate mental health burdens internationally. Two clinical placements at Glasgow Psychological Trauma Service are offered (pending NHSGGC approval). The curriculum highlights how social and cultural contexts influence mental health understanding and treatment approaches globally. Our faculty represents multiple fields: clinical psychology, social work, anthropology, sociology, law, and psychiatry, complemented by insights from individuals with personal mental health experiences.
