Diagnostic Radiographers create and analyze medical images of the human body. As a vital component of healthcare, Diagnostic Imaging plays a key role in identifying and managing injuries and illnesses. GCU's globally recognized Diagnostic Imaging program enables graduates to register with both the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Society and College of Radiographers. The majority of Scotland's Diagnostic Radiographers complete their education at GCU, gaining the essential skills, knowledge, and professional qualities required for contemporary healthcare settings. Students benefit from a specialized x-ray facility that replicates real-world clinical environments. In Year 3, an optional placement offers the chance to gain international experience. Approximately 90% of Diagnostic Radiographers find employment within the NHS, with positions available across hospitals, community services, screening initiatives, and private healthcare providers. The profession offers progression pathways to advanced and consultant-level positions.
