As a pathways student, you'll enroll in the undergraduate BSc (Hons) Computing (GCU Pathways) program at Glasgow Caledonian University. During the initial two years, you'll pursue either an HND in Computing: Software Development or HND in Computer Science at Glasgow Clyde College while preparing for years three and four of the degree program.
The BSc (Hons) Computing degree provides you with the essential knowledge, understanding, and skills needed for a career in IT. If you're interested in computing but haven't chosen a specific specialization, this flexible program allows you to tailor your studies and prepares you for various graduate opportunities.
In the final two years, you'll deepen your knowledge in fundamental areas while selecting elective modules to focus on your preferred specialization. Potential focus areas include mobile app development, cloud systems, secure software development, UX design, advanced project management, and Big Data technologies.
This program also offers opportunities for industry placements or international study through exchange programs. You'll be encouraged to participate in activities organized by the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE). Our computing programs hold accreditation from the Chartered Institute for IT (BCS).
