With a strong emphasis on creative teaching methods, leveraging Falmouth's extensive expertise, the Centre for Pedagogy Futures is dedicated to investigating and evaluating educational approaches to enhance individual, community, and societal outcomes. Our initiatives aim to envision innovative and revisit traditional teaching strategies that address contemporary social and cultural issues.
Building upon Falmouth University's deep-rooted practice in creative disciplines, the Centre for Pedagogy Futures pioneers fresh approaches to fostering creativity in education. We unite academics, professionals, and scholar-practitioners who champion the importance of arts and humanities, employing teaching methodologies as a conduit for creative exploration, research, knowledge-sharing, and cultural dialogue.
By spearheading cutting-edge educational initiatives like the Sound/Image Cinema Lab and forging collaborative partnerships, such as our alliance with Trinity College London, we strive to deepen insights into creative learning processes. Our work highlights the significance of innovative teaching across diverse fields, examines the interplay between life skills and career readiness, and advocates globally for reimagined connections among academic institutions, industries, and government entities.
The Centre is crafting PhD research proposals aligned with its core objectives. While some tie directly to current projects, others concentrate on shaping policies (both regional and national) concerning arts and humanities education. These studies explore balancing employability skills with academic rigor in degree programs and examine how creative teaching methods impact student wellbeing across various courses that incorporate these pedagogical approaches.
