The BSc Animation for Games program is tailored to equip students transitioning from FE College HND advanced entry pathways with the essential expertise for careers in the industry. Applicants with relevant experience are also welcome to apply.
This Animation for Games course enables you to build a professional portfolio, whether specializing for team-based studio roles or cultivating diverse skills for freelance work.
Throughout the program, you'll explore the principles, creation, and implementation of visual and audio components in game animation. You'll master transforming narrative concepts into engaging 2D/3D assets and implementing interactive features using game engines and audio tools. The curriculum also examines contemporary gaming culture, empowering you to analyze and innovate within emerging industry trends.
You'll acquire comprehensive gaming skills spanning 3D modeling/animation, interactive media scripting, sound design, visual storytelling, motion graphics, and collaborative development. Pass in a related subject: Computer Animation, 3D Modelling, Computer Games Development or other related subject with grade B at SCQF Level 8 in the graded unit(s).
Applications are also invited from applicants who have successfully achieved 240 SCQF credits (or equivalent) of which a minimum of 120 credits are at SCQF level 8 (or equivalent).
IELTS (Academic) - 6.0 overall, with no component below 5.5
TOEFL Internet Based Test - 80 overall with a minimum of 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing
