Learning disability nurses work to enhance the wellbeing and daily experiences of individuals with learning disabilities by providing research-backed nursing care and assistance.
This undergraduate program will expand your expertise and comprehension in learning disabilities nursing and its practical implementation, equipping you with both academic credentials and hands-on training to qualify as a registered nurse.
Guided by specialists in a welcoming setting, you'll apply classroom knowledge in our advanced Simulation and Clinical Skills Center and engage in practical placements throughout Lothian, Borders, and Eastern Scotland across diverse healthcare environments, serving both pediatric and adult populations. Clinical placements constitute half of the curriculum.
Throughout the three-year program, you'll cultivate your abilities, understanding, and self-assurance, graduating with a registered nurse certification. These specialized nurses are uniquely trained to support individuals with learning disabilities throughout all life stages.
